TEDx Guangzhou
Been busy lately for projects and stuff… Gotta work harder cos spent too much money this holiday season. Sigh…
Took a day off last weekend to TEDx Guangzhou.

The trip is great. I’ve got the chance to meet some new friends in Guangzhou. Guangzhou is more known as a trade hub for goods made by factories in the Guangdong. TEDx GZ is a good chance where I can see the city from a different perspective.
The event is mainly for students. Think over 80% of the, roughly, 300 attendees are students. Presentations are good but I feel like most of them lack a key TED element – inspire. Most of the topics are about fact, say, Jon Philips talks about Creative Common and Open Source Hardware, a British-born designer talking about his T-shirt brand, David Fend talks about twitter, and so on… I don’t think there are problems talking about these stuff. But I think, for TED, I wanna know why you do it, what lead you do it, how that can change the world!
Em… you built a successful business from your T-shirt design? Well, cool~ But I am not gonna spend time just listening you talking about your portfolio.
So, you are twit most in China? That doesn’t deserve the honor for a TEDx speech… How did you change the world?
Luckily, there are a few, I think, good stories. Here are snippet of the speech captured by my iPhone
朱平 – If you build it, it will come
Hope you guys like them too

Dear Bill:
“If you build it, they will come.”
Thank you for your bias. I was compressed by the time as you could see from this presentation. You also could see I was awkward to use the remote and PowerPoint. I hardly used PowerPoint in my presentation. I also did not know why I held that water bottle. I guess water bottle was my security blanket.
Yes, I absolutely agree with you that you, Kevin, Jason, Eric and Keli did a much inspiring TEDxTaipei with many local heroes in Taiwan. I am so proud of you, the gang of five for TEDxTaipei.
Well, let’s start planning the speaker list and the format for our next TEDxTaipei event.
Love what you do and appreciate your effort to post it here.
Be the change,
Ping
