iPhone business idea – my advice as an iPhone developer
Many people find me to discuss with me about their new business idea on the iPhone platform.
Most of them find me from google which means mot of them are strangers to me. Well, since we are strangers, I’m frank to them mot of the time.
I have total respect to entrepreneur and I encourage people to take risk. But please let me be honest – most of their ideas don’t work!
I don’t wanna be Guy Kawasaki. Still, I wanna point out some personal experience why I think they will probably fail…
- The thing is too complicated. Someone just presented to me screen shots of an iPhone app with 20 plus screens. I mean “dude, wake up! Who’s gonna read manual to use an iPhone app!”.
- They are not doing it themselves. If iPhone is a crucial part o your idea, don’t outsource the whole of it thinking that a company or freelancer will help you to complete your dream. Well, one exception, unless you have really lots of money.
- think about ROI! I don’t think many ideas will bring you considerable profit except game.
- There is some problem in people’s mind. Many people think that app store can bring revenue to them automatically. Well, that’s true if your app is listed top in US app store. If not, you still need to market your app.
- dude, don’t tell me your business idea if you just have 20k budget. That’s jut enough for 2-weeks work! I mean if u hire people, make sure you have budget. Otherwise, keep your idea in your dream.
